COMMUNITY

The Port of Quintell Beach is a key asset to the communities that surround it.

ENVIRONMENT

The waters of the Port of Quintell Beach lie within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. As Quintell Beach is a community port, little environmental monitoring is required in the port area.

Environment Australia's website (www.ea.gov.au/epbc) notes a number of threatened and migratory species in the region. These include Loggerhead, Green, Leatherback, Hawksbill and Flatback turtles, Blue whales, and Great White and Whale sharks.
