PCQ SPONSORS Q150 COMMUNITY BOOK PROJECT

The Zonta Club of Bowen receive a helping hand to publish a second edition of Bowen’s historical book Reminiscences of the 20th Century and Coalfields to Coral Sea, Reflections of the Bowen Shire through recent sponsorship from Ports Corporation of Queensland (PCQ).

PCQ has recently provided $500 funding to the club to help fund the Q150 community book project that will include new stories and photos, with themes of local history, people and places.

PCQ’s Chief Executive Officer, Brad Fish commented that PCQ takes a proactive stance on supporting local initiatives that will benefit Bowen and surrounding communities.

“PCQ is delighted to assist the club through sponsorship that will ensure that the books will be of lasting significance to the Bowen community and future generations,” he said.

The expanded books will exhibit the vision for the Q150 Celebrations, “reflect on our past, and imagine the future” and will reveal Bowen’s historical milestones and diverse cultures.

The Zonta Club of Bowen is part of Zonta International and was incorporated in January 1998. Zonta International is a global organisation of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy.
