PCQ APPOINTS NEW COMMERCIAL MANAGER
Ports Corporation of Queensland (PCQ) has appointed a new Commercial Manager.
Martin Norman has developed an extensive knowledge of the Australian port industry with five years at the Townsville Port Authority and more recently, three years as CEO at the Port of Portland.
As the CEO of the Port of Portland, Martin oversaw operations totalling about four million tonnes of trade per annum which included woodchip, grain, aluminium, mineral sand and live sheep and cattle.
Before his involvement in the ports industry, Mr Norman served in a number of senior commercial roles in mining services and contract drilling.
With over eight years experience in the industry involving all aspects of port operations, Mr Norman brings to PCQ a strong commercial expertise with business leadership strengths in long-term strategic and business planning.
PCQ considers the appointment of a Commercial Manager with Mr Norman’s depth of experience as a reflection of the importance that PCQ places in the commercial activities of the northern ports.
He will be responsible for the ports of Lucinda, Mourilyan, Cape Flattery, Quintell Beach, Thursday Island and Karumba.
PCQ is also the port authority for Hay Point, Abbot Point, Skardon River and Weipa.
